Persons with disabilities

EDAN pre-assembly event in Porto Alegre, 2006

More than sixty members of the Ecumenical Disability Advocates Network (EDAN) from the Pacific region, the Caribbean, Latin and North America, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Asia, including 15 from Korea, will participate at the WCC 10th Assembly.

A pre-assembly gathering on 28-29 October will prepare them for effective participation in the assembly and introduce new EDAN members to the life of the network.

The increased presence of persons with disabilities in Busan compared with the two previous assemblies will be a living example of rising awareness on the need for their inclusion, participation and involvement in the member churches and ecumenical structures.
